The Hair of the Beard that bit you

The Outlaw

The Chronicles of Follicles is showing at MINT Gallery this month as an exhibit of “Atlanta Celebrates Photography”!

The opening will be held on October 9th from 7:30 till 11ish.

For those who missed our ‘sneak peek’ last spring, The Chronicles is a hair rising photo series by the DornBrothers.  It’s men with beards doing “man things” like gardening, grilling, or leisurely eating a steak in the bathtub.  The images are all stirring and dramatic; some are even prophetic as they feature some of the southeast’s unsung Actors, Artist, and Outlaws.  Every image is complemented by an emotional and amazing back-story that explains the character of our hairy hero and how he has come to this state in his life.

The series has also won some attention in the International Photography Awards (IPA) as well as the 4th Annual Masters Cup color awards (see press release below).

Atlanta Celebrates Photography hosts a variety of fun and exciting events throughout the month and we are pretty excited to be a part of it. We’d also like to congratulate MINT Gallery, who was just awarded “Best Art Exhibit In A Gallery” by Creative Loafing! This makes us doubly excited that they chose to showcase us during such a prominent month for photography!  Thanks MINT!

Without a doubt all of this hubbub about beards obviously tweaked some ears and rattled some cages enough to bring in two revered and eloquent art critics who attempted to explain the work.  Dr. Beverly Folly and Dr. Herman Spritzer showed up the morning of our one-day show last spring with their TV crew in tow.

PBR has offered to sponsor this proud event and we’ll have posters, stickers and calendars there along with a few other surprises!
